Harrington Hall Gardens
At the north end is the recently planted Fruit and Nut Garden
where calm 'rooms' are edged with cobnuts and there is a little pond. There are two
more Walled Gardens. The Square Lawn, perhaps the original Tudor Bowling Green, has
borders on all four sides; the west (hot) and the east (cool) are the largest.
From here, too, are the steps up to the Terrace. The Round Lawn - in reality oval
shaped - is in front
of the house; there are two large herbaceous borders with
roses and climbing plants behind.
It is open to the west, with views across the
ha-ha to the wildlife pond and the park.
Beyond the walled gardens, to the south, is a more recent and less formal area
containing the tennis court and swimming pool: the nineteenth century, listed
Pavilion, was originally at the Eastgate Tennis Club in Lincoln. Here are two
more areas of the garden that are already hard
landscaped but are still in the
process of design and planting. Harrington Hall is a private house; the gardens
are open for charity for four Sundays in the summer also
Please see Charity dates Link below for open days.Group booking can be arranged at other times for tours of both house and gardens
